The mission of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is to broaden access to music resources through international collaboration and advocacy, to support research, learning, performance and enjoyment. Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people.

"Reconstruction of Taiwanese Music History" through RILM and IAML

Panel of presenters at Taiwan Music conferenceRILM Editor-in-Chief and Former IAML President, Barbara Dobbs Mackenzie attended a special forum held by the Taiwan Music Institute in celebration of World Day for Audiovisual Heritage. At this forum, Mackenzie spoke about the "collaborative content and cooperative blueprint of the RILM and IAML communities" and participated in the "launch meeting of the IAML-Taiwan prototype." A new group was established at the the forum that includes representatives from Taiwan music associations, and is described as an embryonic group that may lead to a Taiwan branch of IAML in the future.
