We are deeply sad to inform you that our esteemed colleague Wolfgang Krueger passed away at the age of 66 on Thursday, 16 April 2009, after a severe illness. I'm sure most of you knew him. He was engaged in IAML for more than twenty years, for example as Chair of the Commission of Service and Training or as member of the RILM commission mixte.
His death is a tragic loss for the German IAML branch. He was our branch president for 12 years. In 1985 he became a professor of music librarianship at the Stuttgart Media University, where he trained generations of music librarians.
We will miss a good friend, his broad knowledge and his warmhearted and charismatic character -- we loved his sense of humour, his passion for France, French wine, cabaret and more.
