Call for applications for the position of IAML Web Editor

The IAML web site (iaml.info) is to be redesigned to become the central point for storing and making accessible all virtual, public IAML documents. It will be the primary source for providing current information about the organisation for all of its members.

IAML is now searching for a Web (content) Editor. The successful applicant should be able to start work in this position as soon as possible after the conference in Vienna (28th July to 2nd August 2013). The Web Editor will be responsible for the whole web presence of the organisation. The Web Editor will co-operate with an external provider on a re-design of the website. The Web Editor's principal reponsibility will be to acquire new content for the website on a regular basis, to create content and to edit content from members. It is intended that the front page of the website will serve as a replacement for the previously published IAML newsletter.

The Web Editor will be responsible for ensuring that Chairs of Branches, Subject Commissions, Working Groups and Committees keep their pages on the website regularly updated. The Web Editor will also be expected to generate content for the web site.

We are looking for a candidate who is innovative, creative and a team player, who is familiar with the business and structure of IAML. As the majority of pages on the website are in English, the Web Editor must be fluent in English (both written and spoken). In addition, she/he should have basic proficiency in the two other IAML languages (French and German).

The Web Editor will work closely with the Webmaster, and will join him as a member of the IAML Publications Committee. In co-operation with the Webmaster, the Web Editor will produce two reports a year for the IAML Board meetings. The Web Editor will receive an honorarium of € 1,500 per annum. The position has – in the first instance – a limited tenure of three years; it is possible that the arrangement will be continued beyond that time. There will be a 6 month probation period. There will also be a paid assistant to the Web Editor -- position to be advertised separately.

Short-listed candidates will be interviewed during the International Conference in Vienna or at another agreed date via Skype.
