From the AIBM-L, the mailing list of the German IAML branch, we have learned that the Archiv Frau und Musik is facing a drastic cut in funding that would threaten the future of this valuable archive.
The Archiv Frau und Musik, located in Frankfurt, Germany, is an important research center and the only one of its kind worldwide. It has been receiving funding from the City of Frankfurt, but this support is slated to be cut beginning in 2014. There is an online petition to show your support for the archive's work:

In the petition, the Archiv Frau und Musik is calling upon the city to rescind the planned funding cuts and asking them not to approve the budget in its current state.
For more the 30 years, the Archiv Frau und Musik has been dedicated to the promotion of women composers, their work, and their music. The archive is a firm component of the cultural landscape and makes an important contribution to our cultural heritage through collecting, preserving, and publishing the creative activities of woman composers.
Its holdings number more than 20,000 items. In addition to music manuscripts and printed music from the ninth century to today, there are archival collections, works of secondary literature, sound recordings, and images. The archive collaborates with national and international organizations that deal with questions related to gender studies, in all areas of music. It also publishes the magazine VivaVoce, the only German publication in the field dedicated to women composers and performers.

Mit der Petition appellieren wir an die Stadtverordneten der Stadt Frankfurt, die vorgesehene Streichung der Finanzmittel für das Archiv zurück zu nehmen und damit den Entwurf des Haushaltsplans für 2014 nicht in dieser Form zu verabschieden!
Seit über 30 Jahren widmet sich das Archiv der Förderung von Komponistinnen, ihrer Arbeit und ihrer Werke. Das Archiv ist fester Bestandteil der kulturellen Landschaft und leistet mit der Sammlung, Sicherung und Veröffentlichung der kreativen Leistungen von Komponistinnen einen wichtigen kulturpolitischen Beitrag.
Sein Bestand umfasst mehr als 20.000 Medieneinheiten. Neben Notenhandschriften und -drucken vom 9. Jahrhundert bis heute befinden sich im Archiv Vor- und Nachlässe, Sekundärliteratur sowie Ton- und Bildträger. Es findet eine Zusammenarbeit mit nationalen und internationalen Einrichtungen statt, die sich in allen Bereichen der Musik engagieren und mit Fragen der Genderforschung auseinandersetzen.
Die herausgegebene Zeitschrift VivaVoce ist die einzige deutsche Fachzeitschrift zum Thema Komponistinnen und Interpretinnen.
