The second international congress of music libraries was held 20–22 July 1950, in association with the Gesellschaft für Musikforschung in Lüneburg, Germany.

On 20 July 1953, the third IAML meeting was held in association with the International Musicological Society (IMS) conference in Bamberg, Germany.
