Some of you may have known Anne Dhu McLucas, ethnomusicologist affiliated with Harvard, Wellesley, Boston College, and the University of Oregon; sadly, Anne was tragically killed in September. An obituary for her in The Boston Globe can be found here.
A symposium in her honor has been announced, courtesy of Loren Kajikawa:
This Friday and Saturday (October 19, 20), the University of Oregon's School of Music and Dance is hosting the second part of Oral Traditions Old and New: A Symposium in Memory of Anne Dhu McLucas. The symposium will conclude Saturday afternoon with a memorial service in Beall Hall. I'm writing to let people know that the memorial service will be broadcast live on the internet beginning at 4 p.m. PST. Anyone who wishes to join us online can do so through the UO School of Music and Dance's web page. Look for the "Beall Hall Live Stream" link in the upper right-hand corner of the home page.
