We have received the following from Nicholas Cook:
Hofmeister XIX launched in 2008 and over the past 16 years its maintenance has been funded by King's College London and Royal Holloway, University of London. The current support agrement runs out in December 2024 and we are actively exploring alternative arrangements for the future, including the possibility of migration to a different institutional base.
Though we know many people make use of Hofmeister XIX, sometimes on an almost daily basis, we don't have hard evidence of its impact, which is likely to be crucially important in negotiating a new institutional base for the project.
If you would like Hofmeister XIX to be available beyond December 2024, I would really appreciate it if you could email me at njc69@cam.ac.uk to briefly say how and how often you use the resource, its importance for your work, and whether it would be a significant impediment to your work should the website cease to be available. In short, how valuable is Hofmeister XIX to you, and how important do you think it is to music studies more generally?
It would be great to receive responses by 1 May 2024, by which time I hope we will be in negotiation with potential hosts. Thank you very much for being users of Hofmeister XIX over the years, and I hope to hear from you.
With all best wishes, Nicholas Cook.
