Music brings people together, and IAML membership supports our aim to make music internationally accessible through acquisition and lending, preservation and digitization, cataloguing and bibliography, and documentation and research. Moreover, most music librarians and archivists serve as educators, opening up the vast world of information and repertoire during their daily interactions with students, faculty members, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work internationally on multiple fronts to promote and protect musical heritage among diverse cultures, because the importance of music in the lives of the world's peoples is something we truly cherish.

Je me permets de vous rappeler que tout membre de l'AIBM a le droit de proposer des candidats pour les fonctions de président et de vice-présidents.

Les statuts précisent que “le président est rééligible seulement dans des cas exceptionnels. Les vice-présidents ne peuvent être immédiatement réélus plus d'une fois”.

Candidates for the 2010 presidential and vice-presidential elections

Please let me remind you that every member of IAML has the right to propose candi­dates for the office of the President and the four Vice-Presidents.

According to the Con­stitution “the President may only be re-elected immediately in exceptional cases. Vice-­presidents may not be re-elected more than once”.
