The European Music Council (EMC), the regional group for Europe of the International Music Council (IMC), exists to support the interests of its 75+ member organisations, which include national music councils and music organisations from across Europe. The EMC initiates and organises cooperation projects, seminars, workshops and conferences on a European level, and is active in the field of cultural policy.
For our office in Bonn, Germany we are looking for a
Team Administrator
to contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the organisation, as well as to assist the Executive Director and Programme Manager with the implementation of the EMC work plan.
The main tasks of the Team Administrator will include:
•maintaining the EMC contact database/filing systems
•assisting with the organisation of Board meetings, the EMC annual meeting and other EMC events e.g.5thEuropean Forum on Music in Riga, Latvia
•logistical support: flight, accommodation, visas and other travel bookings
•assisting with the preparation of grant applications and writing reports
•assisting with bookkeeping
•supporting the maintenance of the EMC website and social media platforms
•handling enquiries from EMC members, stakeholders and the general public
•other duties assigned by the Executive Director
You should be an open-minded, dynamic person who brings with them qualities such as:
•either a university degree in a relevant subject or significant experience working in a comparable environment
•an interest in/knowledge of music and cultural policies at European level
•a very good command of both German and English, other languages would be an asset
•excellent computer skills (content management systems, databases, Adobe Creative Suite)
•the ability to prioritise workload and to work independently
•willingness to work flexible hours and to travel
We offer an inspiring working environment, international contacts in the fields of music and cultural policy, and the opportunity to get an insight into all fields of work of an international NGO. This position has become available in the frame of the EMC Secretary General's maternity leave, and is therefore limited to 12 months, preferably starting in the first week of October. As Team Administrator you will join a young and enthusiastic team, with flat hierarchies.
