The 2023 Vladimir Fédorov Award
Brinzing, Armin. "A Mozart Library in National Socialist Germany." Fontes Artis Musicae 70, no. 4 (2023): 281-299. Link to Project Muse.
The IAML 2023 Vladimir Fédorov Award goes to Armin Brinzing for "A Mozart Library in National Socialist Germany," which is an important study of provenance questions relating to the Biblioteca Mozartiana and its takeover by the Nazis during the Anschluss. Even today there is a lack of proper documentation relating to provenance of many of the library’s holdings. This is a brilliant piece of research that is well written and easily accessible to everyone.
