IAML Online Meeting: Swedish musical life during the last four hundred years

On behalf of the Swedish IAML Branch it is a pleasure for me to invite you all to: 

Swedish musical life during the last four hundred years: acknowledging the anniversaries of Uppsala University Library, The Royal Swedish Academy of Music and the Music and Theatre Library of Sweden 

The meeting will take place on Zoom, 6 December at 17.00-18.30 CET (16.00-17.30 UTC) and will be followed by the traditional social hour. Since we have a Swedish theme and Christmas is approaching we have chosen to call it “adventsfika”. I will inform you about what it means and send you recipes of lussekatter (saffron buns) and pepparkakor (ginger bread) in time, so you can properly prepare for the meeting! 

Anders Cato, IAML’s Secretary General, will announce the access information on IAML-L closer to the meeting, which will be free of charge.

Programme 

The Library of the Royal Academy of Music and the Music and Theatre Library of Sweden: 250 Years of Librarianship and Collecting
Presented by Mattias Lundberg, Professor of Musicology at Uppsala University. Mattias Lundberg has published books, editions and articles of many aspects of music history, primarily concerning Lutheran church music and liturgy, and concerning historical collections and the history of music collecting. Formerly librarian at the Rare Collections at the Music and Theatre Library of Sweden. 

SweLiMuS: Rewriting the History of Books of Music in the Swedish Reformation
Presented by Fanny Stenback, a book historian and conservator, specialized in the cultural heritage of books and their conservation. In the SweLiMuS project she is responsible for identifying, locating and digitizing the sources on-site, and for analysis of their material properties, such as bindings, paper and parchment quality, including the establishment of provenance and dates.   

Uppsala University Library 400 years: An introductory tour of its music collections
Presented by Kia Hedell, manuscript and music librarian at Uppsala University Library. Kia Hedell holds a PhD in musicology and her research areas are: Swedish music history in the 16^th and 17^th centuries and choral singing in Sweden in the 20^th century. She was a member of the board of the Swedish IAML branch 2011-2019, and is a member of the Swedish RISM working group since 2008.
