Our current European Book Review Editor, Anna Pensaert, has indicated that she would like to hand over this job to someone else after the Dublin meeting. If you would be interested in handling this very important part of Fontes, please fontes@iaml.info. The job description is below:
Wanted: European Book Review Editor. Fontes Artis Musicae
The European Book Review for Fontes handles books from European publishers for European, African, and western Asian reviewers. There is also an American Book Review Editor who handles North and South America and eastern Asia.
Responsibilities:
- Find reviewers for books deemed appropriate for Fontes.
- Communicate with book publishers
- Receive books for review (note, not all books received will be appropriate for review) and mail them to reviewers (this is remunerated).
- Edit reviews to the standard of the journal; this will include providing a complete book citation for the review, finding the book price in USD, GPP, Euros or the local currency, corresponding with the reviewers for changes, corresponding with the Fontes editor, etc.
- The official languages of IAML are English, French, and German and reviews may be in any of those languages.
- Although you will have independent authority for your reviewers and the books reviewed, at times the American Book Review Editor and the Fontes Editor may request specific books to be reviewed or specific reviewers to contact.
Please fontes@iaml.info if you would be interested, if you'd be interested in doing it with someone else (there are, in fact, two American editors), or if you know someone I should contact directly.
Be a part of the IAML journal!
