The building Artisten is part
of Göteborg University and is located in the centre of the
city just behind Götaplatsen.
Artisten is the centre for
music and drama within Göteborg University with programmes at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The Academy
of Music and Drama belongs to the Faculty of Applied and Fine
Arts. Artisten has a library, a concert hall with 400 seats, a smaller chamber music hall,
chorus and organ
halls, theatre and music studios as well as lecture rooms,
and, not least,
a cafeteria. A
number of public events – concerts, theatre performances,
lectures, etc . – take place in the building. Other
arrangements include contemporary music festivals, workshops
for string teachers, organ academies and much more. |
