The mission of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is to broaden access to music resources through international collaboration and advocacy, to support research, learning, performance and enjoyment. Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people. |
A couple of weeks ago, I was fortunate to be able to attend the joint international conference of IAML/IMS (International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres/International Musicological Society) which was held at the Juilliard School at the Lincoln Center, New York.
Kongres IAML/IMS 2015 w Nowym Jorku był wydarzeniem niezwykle ważnym dla środowiska bibliotekarzy muzycznych w Polsce. Po raz kolejny środowisko bibliotekarzy muzycznych z całego świata miało okazję do wymiany poglądów, wiedzy i pomysłów.
Fontes issues 61/4 and 62/1 are currently mailing. US members should have already received them. Worldwide members will receive their copies soon, but international mailing can take up to four weeks.

The issue marked as the latest available should have reached all members' mailboxes worldwide.
Nevertheless as international mailing duration is unpredictable claims for missing issues are not accepted before another six weeks have passed (from the date mentioned).
Para mí ha sido una experiencia inolvidable asistir al congreso IAML/IMS de NYC 2015. Me parece una idea magnífica haberlo planteado como un encuentro en el que investigadores, bibliotecarios y documentalistas pudiéramos reflexionar conjuntamente sobre las nuevas tecnologías y el presente y futuro de nuestras actividades.
Was für eine spektakuläre Woche – großartig z.B. die Musik von der MLA-Bigband vor der Skyline von Manhattan, ebenso die verschiedenen Einblicke und Besuche in der Juilliard-School, der New York Public Library of the Performing Arts und der Ausstellung in der Musikabteilung der Columbia University...
