Veslemöy Heintz, Honorary Member of IAML and President 1995-1998, has received "Medaljen för Tonkonstens Främjande". This is the most prestigious award given by the Royal Swedish Academy of Music. The medal has been awarded since 1945 during a ceremony at the Academy to highly deserving individuals for significant contributions in the promotion of Swedish Music.

"Veslemöy Heintz is awarded "Medaljen för Tonkonstens Främjande" for her long and outstanding work in the music library service. As head of the the Swedish Music History Archive, later the The National Swedish Collections of Music, as well as the Chief Librarian at Statens Musikverk (Music Development and Heritage Sweden) Veslemöy Heintz has contributed to making music available to generations. She has also in word and deed, both nationally and internationally, demonstrated the great importance of archival issues for a rich and thriving cultural scene."
