Communication to Stellenbosch Delegates

The Local Organising Committee looks forward to welcoming you to the IAML Congress in Stellenbosch – the first on the African continent!

Herewith some important information.

Registration

Registration on Sunday 23 June will be from 14:00 to 17:00 in the Music Library, which is located in the Konservatorium.

Please use the Neethling Street entrance for access to the Music Library.

For the rest of the week registration will be in the Behrens Foyer.

Transport

We will provide transport to excursions where the locations are not within walking distance, as well as to the Farewell dinner.

Saturday 22 June pre-congress tour to UCT College of Music and Kirstenbosch

Bus will depart from the Konservatorium at 07:30

Tuesday 25 June excursion for accompanying persons to Groot Constantia Wine Estate

Bus will depart from the Konservatorium at 08:00

Wednesday 26 June excursions

Transport to Blaauwklippen and Vredenheim will depart form the Konservatorium at 13:30

Friday 28 June Farewell dinner at Lanzerac Wine Estate

Bus will depart from the Konservatorium at 18:15

Saturday 29 June post-congress tour to Genadendal and Greyton

Bus will depart from the Konservatorium at 08:00

Programme

Delegates who have requested a print programme will receive one at registration.

Please take note that, after 15 June, all changes to the programme will be published on Sched.

Use the Twitter/X hashtag, #iaml2024, before and during the congress.

Weather

According to the weather forecast we can expect mostly mild temperatures and a little bit of rain during the congress.

However, it is winter in South Africa and it is the rainy season in the Western Cape so be prepared and pack your raincoat/rain jacket and umbrella!
