The mission of the International Association of Music Libraries, Archives and Documentation Centres (IAML) is to broaden access to music resources through international collaboration and advocacy, to support research, learning, performance and enjoyment. Our members open up the vast world of information and repertoire in their daily interactions with students, educators, researchers, musicians, and the general public. We work to promote and preserve musical heritage among diverse cultures as we recognise the importance of music in the lives of the world’s people. |
The Spirituals Database provides searchable information about Negro Spirituals set for the solo voice and recorded on over 3,300 tracks from more than 320 sound recordings. Launched in March, 2015, the database is a resource for discovering and researching the Spiritual’s potential role in developing a singer’s repertoire.

Sie hat ihre Eindrücke hier zusammengefasst: "Die Teilnahme an der Fachtagung für Musikbibliothekare aus dem gesamten deutschsprachigen Raum war nicht nur ein Highlight meines Praktikums, sondern bildete auch dessen stimmigen Abschluss. Zuerst stellte sich hier die Stadt Stuttgart mit ihrem reichen Musikleben dar, unter anderem durch Beiträge der Stuttgarter Staatsoper, der Hymnus Chorknaben, das Integrationsprojekt Labyrinth und das Musiklabel TACET..."

I attended IFLA (International Federation of Library Associations) annual World Library Congress in Cape Town, which was an interesting opportunity to be in South Africa as one of 3200 delegates from around the world. McGill University supports me as a representative on the Acquisition and Collection Development Standing Committee, where I was continuing in a role as an Officer.
