The IFLA World Library and Information Congress (WLIC) 2017 “Libraries. Solidarity. Society”, 83rd IFLA General Conference and Assembly took place in Wroclaw, Poland, 19 to 25 August 2017. 3100 delegates from 122 countries, representing library associations from around the world, gathered in the Centennial Hall, a magnificent venue listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

A conference was recently held by the Music Library Section - Polish National Branch of IAML.

W tym roku Kongres IAML 2016 w Rzymie, dziewiętnastoosobowa (!) grupa bibliotekarzy muzycznych i muzykologów reprezentowała największe polskie ośrodki naukowe.

The Polish National Branch of IAML is celebrating today (March 24, 2016) the birth of the initiator and co-founder of the Section of Music Libraries - Polish National Branch of IAML!

Following the decision of UNESCO Director-General Irina Bokova, Katowice has been designated a UNESCO Creative City of Music. The title is awarded by UNESCO and is an honor. Membership in this prestigious Creative Cities Network allows, among other things, cooperation between cities in organizing joint ventures or plans for long-term urban development strategies in a particular field of art.
