Dress for the banquet is <strong>casual and comfortable</strong>-- we are going to a sugar shack in a maple tree forest. Dinner options include vegetarian food along with traditional dishes. There is a gift shop to purchase maple syrup and other treats.</p> <p><strong>Professional exchange of music librarians:</strong> On Friday, July 27, the Commission on Service and Training is going to present a report in English about the experiences made during an exciting internship and exchange: "Dresden – Cambridge – London 2012". When the weather is bad you can use this underground system to walk to the Métro and the underground shopping centres that are along St. Catherine. </p> <p>If you wish to see more of the Grande Bibliothèque, where the reception was last night, they are offering a full tour of the facility which lasts about one hour. There is a sign-up sheet posted on the conference board next to the registration desk (limit of 45 participants). Allow about 30 minutes to get to Old Montréal using public transportation. Tonight’s concert is at 7:00 PM. The choir performing tonight is an excellent group and the concert will last 1 hour. They will be selling CDs before and after the concert. There are many interesting <a href="http://www.library.mcgill.ca/iaml2012/node/125">restaurants</a> in Old Montréal to eat at after the concert.</p> <p>Tomorrow at lunch time the Canadian Music Centre is offering a tour and lunch. You need to sign up in advance at their table in the exhibits area by 1:00 today. See them for more details. </p> <p>There is a new recording released to honor Helmut Kallmann called “Sounds of North.” The Emile Berliner Museum, which is a museum dedicated to the history of sound recording, is open Wednesdays to Sundays from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily. Both are connected to our news page on the conference website, where we will post announcements and information throughout the week. </p> <p>For all events, including the evening events, please remember to wear your name badge, because this acts as your ticket, except for the Wednesday afternoon tours and the Friday night banquet, where you need to have tickets. For the evening events if anyone wishes to purchase extra tickets for friends, family or collegues, they are available. Ask at the registration desk for more details. </p> <p>If you want to make dinner plans after the concerts in the evenings, know that both concerts are scheduled for one hour each. Highlights include selections from 19th-century Canadian sheet music; Montreal concert programmes (1786-1945); scores from the music library of Pauline Donalda (1882-1970), a Montreal soprano who sang with great success in London, Paris, New York, and Brussels; and documents from McGill’s Charles Burney collection.
