IAML Membership Committee

At its meeting in Antwerp, the IAML Council and General Assembly approved the establishment of a Membership Committee, and also appointed me as chair. The terms of reference for the Membership Committee is as follows:

• to increase and diversify IAML's membership by reaching out to individuals and institutions associated with music in libraries, archives or documentation centres, particularly in regions currently under-represented in the Association.
• to identify and promote the value of membership in the Association. 
• to encourage the active engagement of all members.

I would like to begin the work of this committee by discussing the member experience at the annual conference and then address ways in which to enhance the value of membership in the association. We will work in tandem with the Outreach Committee and Advocacy Committee as we move forward to accomplish shared goals.

The committee should ultimately be 8-10 members, with broad representation from various national branches and from different types of libraries and institutions. If you are interested in serving on this committee, please send me an e-mail at cassaro@pitt.edu by 22 September 2014.
